How to play steam games off an external hard drive

To play Steam games off an external hard drive, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Connect your external hard drive to your computer and make sure it is recognized by your system.

2. Launch Steam and click on "Steam" in the upper left corner of the window.

3. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu and click on "Downloads" in the left-hand column.

4. Click on "Steam Library Folders" at the top of the window and then click on "Add Library Folder".

5. Choose the location on your external hard drive where you want to store your games and create a new folder there.

6. Select the folder you just created on the external hard drive and click on "Select".

7. Close the Settings window and click on "Library" in the upper left corner of the Steam window.

8. Click on "Installed" at the top of the window and select the game you want to move to the external hard drive.

9. Right-click on the game and select "Properties".

10. Click on the "Local Files" tab and then click on "Move Install Folder".

11. Select the folder you created on the external hard drive and click on "Move Folder".

12. Wait for the game files to be moved to the external hard drive.

Once the game has been moved to the external hard drive, you can launch it from within Steam and play it as you normally would. Keep in mind that running games from an external hard drive may result in longer load times and reduced performance compared to running games from an internal hard drive.
